Got my September issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine today, and discovered a short feature on Mr. K.! Cool!

In fact, OLF/Michigan Guild members are showing up all over this issue. The revolution has begun!

Congratulations, John. I'm in Atlanta occasionally and now that you're a celebrity, maybe I can come take a tour. Seriously, that's a very nice article. Your work is very impressive.

Congrats John.I haven't cracked open the September issue yet so I know what my reading material will be this evening. We all know you deserve some recognition.

Way cool, bro! You gonna make Momma proud.
(One of us needs to, she keeps saying....)

I would love to see the article w/ me own eyes, but my copy hasn't arrived yet.

Very cool! More marketing oomph than a full page ad. Be sure to get LOTS of reprints ("tear sheets") to hand out to prospects, along with your other marketing material.

Good for you, John! It makes me mad that I let my subscription expire. I'll have to look again when I'm in the music store- I had the issue in my hands today, but didn't look that deeply.
Carlton says there are other members mentioned, too- like who? An MGL member too? Cool! I'm looking forward to meeting you too Carlton....

Mark,

They were all in ads. Bryan Galloup twice--once in his own ad, and once in Allied Lutherie's--also Mauel, Charis Guitars, Kingslight, and others I can't remember right now. Yeah, anyone can take out an advertisement, but these guys are ready to provide a quality instrument, and I think it's cool that they're willing to hang out here with the likes of me!

BTW, Mark, didn't I see one of your electrics in Guitar Player's featured products section once or twice? It was a unique and interesting instrument, as I recall.

Looking forward to meething you as well. I'd have made it to the first MGL meeting, but I didn't find out about it until about a half hour after it started. Drat!

Ha! Not that I know of, anyway. While I can safely say that my electrics are probably a bit unique and hopefully interesting, so are a lot of them!
I'll make sure you know about the next MGL meeting!

Hmmm...sorry for the mixup. The reason I remember that particular guitar is that it was made by a Grand Rapidian, who, apparently, is also making unique and interesting instruments! Any idea who that might be? We should get him to join the forum, too.

Carlton, I didn't see the magazine. If you could track it down, then we could and should track the guy down! If you have a date for the magazine it would help.

Hey Thanks guys
I just got back into town and found that article on me in the magazine.
I did a phone interview and sent a few pictures and never was told for sure that it would actually turn into an article. So I adopted a wait and see attitude.
But I guess that is MY 15 minutes. Clearly Everybody gets 15.

I appreciate you guys.

John

Mark,

That's the problem--the Guitar Player in question was from some time ago (the last couple of years, though, I think), and I don't have my old issues stored chronologically, or even in the same place. I'll find it eventually. Maybe by the October MGL meeting.

John,

After 10 years of hard work, you should be good for at least 30 minutes!

It's a great start. You'll be in there again I'm sure. I am proud to have my inlay on that guitar in there! That guitar is awesome. Now that your home I'll get it back to you!

Best.
Craig

I gave them your name as the inlay artist I use, and that you had done the inlay on that guitar pictured, but they did not print it. I am sorry about that.

That article is about you though. Not me. I'll have my 15 minutes some other day. I am so happy for you . That article isn't near long enough to show how evolved your instruments are. Adam Stark got some press though, and that's good. Finishing is a lot less glamerouse than inlay!
Congratulations again. Your now a "known" luthier.
(as if you weren't before...)

Craig
